Making health insurance work for the low-income market in South Africa (2009)

Compliance with international standards such as Basel II, Solvency II or those dealing with Anti-Money Laundering and the Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) may impact on financial inclusion if it is not tailored to the domestic environment and sensitive to avoiding unecessary costs. Cenfri seeks to support compliance with such international standards in a manner that does not impact unnecessarily on financial sector development and inclusion. Read more.

Making health insurance work for the low-income market in South Africa (2009)

This study, conducted by Elixir Business Consulting and Fifth Quandrant, was funded by the Finmark Trust and managed by the Centre for Financial Regulation and Inclusion (Cenfri).

The final report presents the findings and conclusions of a study that identifies the main drivers of health insurance costs in South Africa, as well as strategies that can be used to reduce these costs, to support the inclusion of low-income earners.
